two life sentences?

An 18 y/o was sentenced to two life sentences for a crime committed when he was 17. Why two life sentences? Wouldn't one hold him for life? Is there a possibility for parole?

Re: two life sentences?

He was either sentenced per charge or per victim. If there were two, then two sentences. They do that in case something happens on one sentence on appeal. There is no parole in Fl. Life means life.
