Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Hi, My mom was arrested last year and was charged with like 5 counts of things from elderly abuse/neglect, stealing over 1,500 and other stuff. They tried to make a deal with her to pay the 1,500 back to the suppose victims and community service but she said no then bc her mental stress was heavy, she told her lawyer that she would pay the stupid 1,500 to get this over with bc she even moved away.. bc she did nothing wrong, she just wanted her life back. She then, recently got a letter from the judge saying they never should have arrested her in the first place. The Judge dismissed the case. Her lawyer told her now she doesnt have to pay him anymore and that he would like to represent her if she chooses to sue. She looking around bc she didnt like how he handled her case. In the beginning she was arrested on a college campus in front of the boss she was applying for a position bc she is a dental hygenist, has had no prior arrest, lived in the community for over 30 years, and takes care of her own father as well.. now, can she sue anyone?? Her name is ruined in panama city with getting jobs she feels, mental stress from the time period regarding the case and financial stress big time from having to pay the lawyer. It put such a hard time on the whole family, knowing the truth and having even her own laywer not believing her it seemed like. Now the judge saw the case and immediately through it out. thanks

Not exactly sure what your question is, but if you want to get a new attorney or even keep the same attorney, then talk to them about your chances at suing. You have the right to sue, but the question becomes, is it worth it? Only you along with an attorney can answer that.
