Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Last night (1/14/12) my friend and I were both caught shoplifting. She took a $20 purse and a $16 bracelet. I took a $16 bracelet. The police were called, they took our finger prints, but they did not bring us down to the police station. We do have a court date that we should be getting mailed to us. This is the first time that either of us have been arrested and neither of us know what to do. We would like some help to figure out the best way to approach this whole situation. Also, the police report for me, is wrong. They said that I took two bracelets when I only took one. I have no idea what we should do... Can anyone help???

If you have no prior record, you are eligible to receive "diversion". This may involve attendance at anti-theft school and other conditions, but upon completion of the diversion program, the case against you would be dismissed and you would be eligible to have your arrest record expunged. Call me if you need further info.
