Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I quit my job on 2/23. The day I left I was called by my employer, as well as our Loss Prevevntion guys saying that I needed to call back to "resolve some issues". I was called numerous times with messages left saying "don't make this worse than it may already be". I did not call back, obviously because I was scared. They have "suspicious transactions" that they would like to question me about. I've heard talking to LP has lead to people confessing things that they did not do, which is why i have not complied. They stoped calling. A week later (yesterday) I recieved another call from the LP based in Maryland saying to call him back so we can deal with this over the phone, otherwise the local LP would handle it. My question is, What are my options? Should I speak with LP? If I don't, what are the scenarios that could happen? All they have are the supspicous transactions, there is no video footage, and no confession. I have been really losing sleep over this. I need help, please.

It's not clear from your question whether you having something to worry about because you actually did something wrong, or whether they are just bothering you because you left your job. But, from your statement about the "suspicious transactions" it sounds like maybe you have some concerns over some real issues. Regardless, I wouldn't talk to them without an attorney. If you have something to worry about, hire a criminal law attorney, tell them the story and let them do the talking on your behalf. Don't speak to them on your own. You may say things that you later regret.

Good luck!
