Aside from dropping the case...The best offer to the simple battery would be a withholding of adjudication of guilt and court costs. The court costs would be around $300-$350. Nicer would be to amend the charge to assault or disorderly conduct with the same result. Not much of a real difference, but they are lesser charges and sound better than battery sounds. Also, a second battery can be charged as a felony if you enter a plea of any kind to the first battery.
