Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Rent check came back NSF and has not been made good on

Tenet in process of evicting due to non-payment of June or July Rent. Gave me 2 checks for June ( one half the rent in each check) deposited the first on day indicated and it bounced

Did not deposit the second

Is there action I can take for him writing a bad check

Yes, it is a misdemeanor crime to pass a worthless check. You can file criminal charges against him. Most local State Attorney's Offices have a Worthless Check Division which is set up specifically to prosecute such cases. I recommend filing a police report promptly and then contacting the SAO Worthless Check Division for further information and guidance.
