Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

sexual assault of a minor

At age 14 a girl began a romantic relationship with her tennis coach who was 38 years old. The relationship eventually led to oral sex. She consented at the time but now she wonders what the man would be charged with?

Re: sexual assault of a minor

Don't take this the wrong way, but with do either or them ever watch the news? In much of the country, its called statutory rape because she cannot legally consent. In New Jersey, it falls under Endangering the welfare of a child and prison time is automatic upon conviction, there is no probation available. He will also need to go to Avenel to get his sex offender classification. Furthermore, he'll probably get sentenced there as well which is really bad because you do a longer sentence because you don't get the same "good time" credits that you would get in regular prison.

In short, he needs a really good lawyer with experience in this area. My initial consultations are always free, so he can call me at 732/247/3340 and we can discuss his situation.
