Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

My son was released from FL prison on 3/19/17 and arrested on 4/5/17. he was not on his medications and could not due to no insurance at the time. he was originally charged with Burglary of unoccupied and grand theft over 300. he plead out. The State dropped charge down to Attempted Burg. 3rd degree and kept Grand theft. he was given 5 yrs for Attempted (prr) and 5 yrs for grand theft.

he is waiting on appeal opinion, when opinion is given, can he do motion to mitigate sentence due to fact he scored 56 points, (21 months) ? He has a lot of support evidence to conviction.

I don't believe there's anything he can do since he got a prr sentence. Furthermore this is a question that he should ask his appellate attorney because I can't properly answer this without that attorneys permission.
