speedy trial

my husband was arrested 1/23 in martin county florida for lewd and lascivious over the computer and he has not seen a pd and has no court date. was is a speedy trial and how do we go about getting one we don't have much money so we have to depend on a pd. he says some guys have been in jail for 8 months and have not seen a judge or got a court date. there is more to the case. so how do we go about the speedy trial.

speedy trial requires the state to try the case within 175 days of arrest whether your defense is ready or not. so speedy is not such a great yhing if you want an adequate defense. speedy trial should not be used to make your pd move faster for you. try a diferent approach if you need more attention.
