Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Vop

My nephew is in probation for a charge of simple possession in florida. He got stopped and was given a ticket for failure to get a florida drivers license. He did get his license like he was supposed to and the dummy got his court date mixed up. He went to the court the day he thought it was but they had issued a warrant. the clerk had him fill out paperwork for a new court date and that is all she did. said it could take up to two weeks to process. Can they come and arrest him and will he be violated? Should he call his probation officer before this happens or just wait for a new court date? Not sure which way to go. He doesn't know what to do. Please help thanks

He should go to walk in court and have the case heard immediately. Since you say he took care of his problem, the case should probably be dismissed by showing his valid Florida license and payment of court costs or a small fine. He can then inform his probation officer of the mixup and let the officer know that it has been resolved.
