If your friend has been charged with her 3rd DUI and the State has charged it as a felony the sentence will include jail time; at least 30 days with 48 hours to run consecutively. Meaning, your friend could be sentenced to complete her jail time during the weekends if the State is willing to accept such an offer. Your friend is also going to pay some hefty fines and court costs. She doesn't necessarily have to be subjected to this. She can hire an qualified lawyer to handle her case. Who knows, maybe the stop was invalid, or proper procedure was not conducted by the officer causing the case to be dismissed. These things must be examined closely before your friend does anything else.
