Legal Question in DUI Law in Florida

Thank u 4 responding so quickly to my previous question! I'm in FL with a valid FL license but still restricted/suspended in MI. I completed most of the requirements in MI but moved to FL in 2006 b4 i could finish. The Woman at tax collector-DMV here in fI called branch manager in 06 and they gave me a license. Now if i go back to dmv to change address or renew the same MI record comes up and they want to confiscate my license! I know there is much more to be done in MI to clear my record. Basically I still hav to get another alcohol assessment, be attending AA, and PROVE my sobriety to get reinstated by a hearing officer. The state took the power from the judges and its in this one mans hands now. It took 3 years of going once a year and jumping through the hoops, writing letters, bringing family and witnesses, my sponser, to see this guy just to ask for a license once a year. I no longer live there and want to handle it from here if i can. Have had FL license since 06 and no tickets and no trouble! Thanks again

If you are still suspended in MI, then you probably are not entitled to a license in FL. You should not have been issued one here to start with. I would be careful driving, as FL may have suspended the license they issued to you upon discovering the mistake. Only you would know if you got that notice from the state, but I suspect you have. Actually having the license in your possession does not mean it is not suspended.

Clear up your problems in MI and you will be able to get a FL license.
