Inheridence
My daugher is starting college when she turns 18 she has an inheridence of 50,000 dollars in a CD does she have to claim this on finianial aid forms.
How does she protect this money?

It would be imporper and potentially criminal to not disclose a substantial asset on a financial disclosure -- especially if by doing you you receive a financial benefit to which you are not entitled.
