Abuse of power of attorney

I have an elderly Aunt who is competent but sickly--name removed-- Her daughter was granted power of attorney sevveral years ago--name removed-- is now abusing that power by taking money from my Aunt's bank account without permission--name removed--signing my Aunt's checks and depositing them in her own account--name removed-- is now trying to have my Aunt declared incompetent in order to force her into a nursing home--name removed-- Can power of attorney be rescinded--name removed-- how--name removed-- Also is there any legal recourse that my Aunt can take against her daughter in order to recover the money that was taken?

There are steps that can possibly be taken to protect your aunt's interest, but several specific factual issues should be addressed first. You (and/or your aunt) should consult with a competent attorney in the state where your aunt lives as soon as possible.
