Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Florida

We recently formed a group to watch our favorite NFL team. We would like to hold raffles, 50/50 splits etc with all proceeds going to childrens organizations. What licenses or applications do I need to fill out or apply for?

Raffles are by all legal standards a "lottery". Unauthorized lotteries are illegal under Florida and Federal law. One would need to be a charitable organization to obtain permission from the State Attorney General. For profit lotteries are prohibited unless approved by the AG's office. You can do a "contest" with an attorney's help.
