Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I have 2 questions

!) My ex owes alot of back child support. I thought once they turned 18, I couldn't get it. I hear Florida law says you can still go after them even though they're grown.

2) I am owed alot of his retirement from the past. I was to receive 11/20ths of 1/2 of his retirement (Navy). He paid me for 1 year & that was it. I need to know if I can go for past & present pay.

Re: I have 2 questions

1) You can go back two years on retroactive (back) child support, regardless of the age of the child.

2) Depending on how your divorce judgment reads, you should probably not be receiving pension payments directly from him, but from DFAS. There is a form on the DFAS website. You need to fill out the form and send a copy of your divorce judgment (assuming it was done correctly) to DFAS. After that, DFAS sends you the pension money, not him.

You should be able to get the back pension money from him that you are owed, but you'll probably have to sue him for it. Contact me if you need help with all of this.
