Re: adoption name change

Your child's last name is entirely up to you until he turns 18. You are a single parent now, and that doesn't change just because you get remarried. Unless your new spouse adopts your child--which would have to be with your consent--you will be in full control of your child's last name until he turns 18. He will keep his biological father's last name forever unless you do something to change it or unless he changes it after he turns 18.
