Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Adoption father out of country

Woman became pregnant in Venzuela with a Venezuelan citizen. She never married and moved to the US while pregnant. She had the baby in the US and had lived here since. Child is now 2. She is now marrying a US citizen and would like him to adpot the child. Childs biological father has no contact with the child. Does she still have to provide notice to the biological father and if so, whats the procedure?

If you want to do this on your own, contact the state and they'll walk you through it the best they can. You should be able to find the correct agency with a Google search. Otherwise, you can of course hire an attorney to get it done. Under your facts, I think you have a good chance to get this done so the adoption can take place.

Yes, he must be notified by the court. Retain counsel to handle this matter.
