Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

name change

I would like to go back to using my maiden name.

When I got divorced the second time the judge asked me if I wanted to go back to my maiden name I said yes only on the divorce papers it asked what was your former name and I Funderburk which was my first husbands name and the name I was using (never changed it).

I would really like to go back to using the name I was given at birth and stop using ex husbands names.

Is there a way to do that without going through a court hearing to do it.

Maybe I could just show my birth certificate to change all my legal papers etc .

Re: name change

You must go through a legal name change proceeding, though an actual hearing before the judge is not required in some counties.
