Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

child custody cont

In fl, if the father's name is on the birth certificate, can he then take the child without the mother's permission if there is no court order/agreement between unmarried parents. Can he prevent the mother from leaving the house with the child even to go to the store?

Re: child custody cont

A birth certificate conveys no fathers' rights in Florida. The father cannot take the child nor can the father prevent the mother from taking the child. The father must file a paternity suit to get fathers' rights.
