Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child Support florida

My wife and I have agreed on everything regarding the divorce. We ask that the papers be drawn up as we stated. Now her lawyer says it doesn't matter what we agree upon, child support still must be paid, even if it is not ask for. Is this correct?

Yes. Neither spouse has the right to bargain away the child support rights of the child. Florida statutes set forth the amounts to be paid based on a formula and lengthy chart in Chapter 63.
