Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child support / settlement payments in arrears

My ex-husband is 3 months behind in his support and payment of our settlement. The amount currently totals $9600.00. Also - according to our agreement - he is to pay 1/2 of non-covered medical/dental expenses. He has not done that either. What recourse do I have, as he is NOT paying through the court, but directly to me?

Re: Child support / settlement payments in arrears

You need to file a Motion for Contempt. At the hearing and in your motion, your need to request that an Income Deduction Order be entered and all future payments be taken directly from his paycheck and sent to the Florida State Disbursement Unit for payment to you. I recommend that you hire a local family law attorney to help you with this matter.
