Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I need to know if my ex can control visitation.

My daughter is four years old, when she was six months old I moved away so that I could become more stable.Shortly before I left, someone that I knew filed a complaint against me with DCFS,convincing our babysitter that I was an unfit parentand to file also. Now,almost four years later I went to see my daughter and my ex-fiance told me that there was a court order that said I was not allowed to have unsupervised visitation. As far as I knew there was a statute of limitations on these things, and the order was supposedly filed in 2000.He also told me that when it came time to decide visitation and custody,it would be mostly up to him.I am aware that I should not have left for so long, but it was my understanding that the court prefers for bith parents to be involved with the raising of children. It is my understanding that my daughter has missed school repeatedly, and her step-mother takes her to church three times a week against my wishes(I'm Jewish).I need to know what my rights are,I've attempted to contact DCFS,but cannot get a straight answer.I am going to visit in September, and I would like to know if I have the right to demand that visitation and custody be decided by US,not just HIM.

You will need court approval for anything if there has already been an order entered on your case. You need a lawyer.
