Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My daughter is married to a guy in the military. She is in the hospital on an Air Force Base in Florida. I don't trust her husband to do the right thing. Can she sign a power of attorney giving me the right to make decisions if she can't? Would this override her husbands rights to make decisions?
