Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

DCF says I have to give my aunt:

Florida short term individual acknowledgement

&

Voluntary agreement of temporary custody

to continue to care for my son while I am trying to start over after a nasty breakup that left me with no car, no place to live, no job... Nothing.

My aunt refuses to let me stay at her house with my son, and wants to take him away from me. (Basically because She has empty nest syndrome and she hates me because of something that happened with my uncle when I was 12)

What do I need to know about these forms to make sure I can get my son back as soon as I get a place to live?

You will have to go through a court action to get your child back. I suggest you find another solution since she is adamant about you not being there. She could claim abandonment and you would not know until too late. Go to one of the victim abuse houses: Betty Griffin in St. Augustine or Sulzbacher in Duval County. they can help you get a place to stay while you get on your feet and will keep your child with you.

So long as it is not a termination of your parental rights, you should be fine. Better the aunt then foster care, right?
