Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I'm considering a divorce my children are in college my home is worth about what we owe so our assets are a wash. My problem is I want to get a hold of my credit cards because I started a business and need some extra cash flow. the business is doing well but I don't want my wife to be responsible for any debt on credit cards, the cards are in my name. If I were to get into trouble I don't want my soon to be ex to have any credit problems. Can I use these before the divorce and her not have any responsibility towards the debt or does the divorce have to be finalized ?

If the credit cards are solely in your name when you file for your divorce you can do so with the a petition claiming the debt associated with them is nonmarital debt. I bet you dollars to doughnuts your ex won't argue with a claim that the credit card debt is yours not hers. If you want clarification please don't hestitate to call. 904-517-4584.
