divorce

florida is a 50/50 state, but are my business assets and operating income considered marital assets I have to divide?

That can be a complicated question. It depends on the facts. For instance, is your business marital property in the first place? If it is, what sort of assets are we talking about? And, if everything turns out to be marital and subject to equitable distribution, you can negatiate in order to keep the business intact and offset the value of the other spouse's half with some other marital asset(s), for instance, the home?

As for income, income is income. It is only relevant to child support and alimony issues.
