Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Divorce

My husband has been physically abusive, deprived me economically, and verbally abusive in front of his young son for years. We are separated (not legally) and I have been asking for a divorce. he absolutley refuses to give me one. It should be uncontested, no assets,, no financial debts together, no children together. hes just being hateful. What can I do if he wont grant me one? Cant really afford an attorney either.

Re: Divorce

A divorce is not something one party grants another. You do not need his cooperation. If you are representing yourself, download the forms from the FL Supreme Court website, fill them out and head to your local clerk's office to file.. They will allow you to set up a payment plan for the court costs.
