divorce

i married in floida.. the marriage has ended. i live in alabama do i have to file for divorce in florida or can it be done in alabama. also he bought a house in florida but i have been making all the payments and ass dues can i quit paying these paayments before the divorce is filed or will it be better to end that after the dovorce...he will have a hard time making this morgage

If you have established a residence in Alabama and qualify as such you can file in Alabama (check with an Alabama attorney). If you still are a legal resident of Florida file here. You don't mention any children so I assume that is not a concern. Only property is some real estate in Florida, right? You don't say if you are on the deed. If you are not on the mortgage, then you don't have to pay anything; you were just doing out of the kindness of your heart. As far as his having a hard time making the mortgage, he should have thought about it before he bought the place.
