Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Divorce/legal seperation

I had an injunction brought againstmy husband 11 years ago.I have not seen or heard from him since then.I can not justify getting ma divorce from him as I am on a fixed income and am supporting a 14 year old son. My husband is my beneficiary of my retirement unless I can prove a legal seperation or a divorce. Even with the sheriffs taking him out of my home, they can not prove abandonment. so how can I can a divorce or legal seperation without it costing me an arm and leg, and quickly? Thank you

Re: Divorce/legal seperation

The filing fee alone for divorce is $408 and the publication or service fee will be more, so the short answer to your question is, you can't. To save a little money, you can either download the forms you need from the supreme court website, buy them from a clerk's office, or use a paralegal.
