Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My ex-wife has custody of our two minor children ages 8 and 3. We separated in october 2009 and our divorce was finalized in august 2010. The kids remained with her in Florida only because I was discharging from the army in Maryland (and remained in Maryland after my discharge) at the time, she wiped out our whole bank account to all of our money and left me with nothing and I felt because the kids had been with her things could remain as they were. She promised me that I could see and talk to the kids whenever I wanted. Well needless to say I have only seen my kids one time since we separated. She will not give me any information pertaining to them like school information, report cards and day care information. I text her to talk with the kids and it can take her several days to a week to respond. I have maintained the same address since oct 2009 while she has moved 6 times without my consent or knowledge with kids all in Florida except 1 time to Ohio. The original divorce paperwork stated that I could have the kids with 30 days notice and she will not let me see them. I pay my child support every month on time and there has never been an issue on either side as far as abuse. I recently found out she is engaged which is fine I have remarried and have another child with my new wife but she hasn't even stated she was seeing anyone and neither one of my kids even mention this guy in their life. All I want is my kids to have visits with me in my home without her interference. Also, my ex the kids and the new fiance were supposed to come to Washington dc and she promised me I could have the kids the days they are here. Well after her changing the plans multiple times with them coming then not she stated they had postponed their trip till later spring. I talked with my son and stated how sorry I was they weren't coming and I wasn't going to see them and he stated they were still coming!! Don't I have to give my permission for my kids to travel with a man I know nothing about and that they are indeed going on a trip?? Any advice??

You would probably get better responses if you posted the zip-code in Florida where the case would be pending.

Do you have any proof (emails, text messages, etc...) to substantiate your assertion that your ex has been attempting to frustrate your relationship with the kids?

At a minimum, assuming that everything is in place, a Motion To Enforce/Contempt should probably be pursued.

If you opt to proceed without the assistance of counsel, be aware that you will not be entitled to a do over if things go badly.

The above information is provided without any consideration/payment having been received, and without full knowledge of all of the facts.

An internet inquiry is no substitution for an in-office consultation with an attorney.
