Good afternoon, I would like to receive a response in regards of how to proceed with a divorce due to abandonment from the husband. Meaning, we have been separated for several years and I have no acknowledgement of his where about and he was not a legal citizen prior to the marriage.

You have to file your petition with the court then serve him with the summons. If he cannot be located then you have to serve by publication. Use of a lawyer is recommended.

Florida statutes requires you to make a good faith effort to find him, once that is done you can use service of process by publication, whole process takes about 6 months. This usually requires an attorney.
