Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My husband of 16 years and I are currently living in the same house, but are estranged. He says that he is going to continue taking care of things financially, but all of our bills are currently past due and I am only working a part time job while looking for something more. We have 2 children as well, 11 and 9. My question is if he decides at some point to leave, which I think is a distinct possibility, and I have no money to hire a lawyer, how can I make sure that my children and I are taken care of?

More information about how much your husband makes (in regard to his ability to pay legal fees) would be beneficial in figuring out what the best solution may be.

Also, if you anticipate that he will leave and you presently have access to money, it may be best to hire an attorney to begin the process of negotiating and ultimately aiding you in agreeing to whatever arrangement will be in place moving forward.
