Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I live in Florida and have a son 12 years old lives in missouri, born in kansas. Mother or child enforcement in missouri dropped child support case in 2002 without prejudice against me I was told because she did not comply with the child enforcement bureau. Also in 2008 missouri judge again dropped case of child support without prejudice, I believe because of a jurisdiction issue. Now Florida dept of Revenue is seeking child support on behalf of mother, the mother is asking for back payments of child support starting from april 2008. I Should mention another mans name is on the birth certificate and he also claimed to be the father on past two cases, the child has his name. Will Florida dept of revenue go along with mothers request of back payments starting in 2008 OR will Florida dept of revenue go back to childs birth for back payments. I am a disabled vet awaiting my Hearing for disability( on appeal). This is sending me over the edge, I truly wanted in 2002 to establish a relationship with the child, only spoke to him once, he was 4, the mother has avioded my attempts for contact since 2002, I wanted visitation and a name change back than and she dropped case as I previously mentioned . How far back will they go The Childs birth or 2008 as the mother requested.

The Florida Dept. of Revenue will enforce a child support order. In other words, there is a support order against you. It is very likely that you may have been the victim of a default judgment in another state. What you may want to do is to request that the Dept. of Revenue supply you with a copy of the judgment so that you can -perhaps- challenge it in a court of law.
