Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

How long do you have to change paper-work from a name change?

If you have your name changed legally and then use your birth name to sign insurance documents or other documents with your birth name instead of your legally changed name, will the documents be non-binding or non-accountable for what he signed. Is there a certain amount of time to get all your paper-work changed over in your new name? Is it against the law to use your birth name since it no longer is your name anymore? What kind of trouble can someone get into for doing something I feel is wrong and they no that it's not their name anymore. Please help me to understand what's the right thing to do.Please help!!!

You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

Once you get your name legally changed, you no longer have the right to use your birth name. I am not aware of any legal penalty unless it is done to defraud someone. Anything you do under a wrong name may not be enforceable by you in the future. The right thing to do is simple ... use your legal name.
