Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Modification of Visitation Schedule

I reside in Florida and have been divorced for 6 yrs.

My current visitation schedule is 1 night per week, every other weekend, 2 weeks per quarter, and shared holidays.

I would like to increase my visitation schedule, but don't have the financial resources for an attorney.

--How do I request a modification of visitation?

--Do I need an attorney/paralegal or can I request the papers through the court and fill them out myself?

--Will I need an attorney eventually, even if I do it myself?

Re: Modification of Visitation Schedule

With enough time and study, you can do it without an attorney. To modify the final judgment, you must file a Petition For Modification and show the court that the visitation schedule should be changed because there has been a substantial change in circumstances. Has there? If not, and the other parent objects, you may have a difficult time increasing your visitation. Or you can try to work it out with the other parent. Good luck.
