Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I have a question for you, I am an unmarried expecting mother who is having conflict with the babys father. The father lives in Texas and I live in Florida he does acknowledge that the child is his and he has threatened to take my child from me when she is born. I just want to know how custody works in Florida, He does not have a job or a place of his own. I know it might sound like i'm over reacting but i am just a first time mother who knows absolutely nothing about how the court systems work, and i am terrified of the thought that he could take my child from me. Please help me. Emily

Dear Emily:

I would be happy to explain how custody works in Florida.

Feel free to call me at either number indicated below (between 8:15 a.m. aand 4:15 p.m.).

Until the child is born, there is really nothing that can be done through the Courts.

Sincerely, Elliot Goldstein
