Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My sister died intestate in Feb 2017. There are 5 siblings, 4 of whom had not talked to her in one case in over a year, the other cases 13 years. I am the only person who she was close to. I went to VA when I found she was ill, hired a lawyer to do POA, Advance Directive, but my sister was too drugged to sign. By that point she was in a rehab facility who had "had it with my sister", per the Social Worker. Anyway, she left a $30,000 fund of some sort that she kept fretting about as it was due to mature soon. She owned no real estate, had a "lif use" of the home she lived in. I know nothing about her taxes, but they are probably current. I do not have the $3000 2 lawyers quoted to me. What can I do to obtain her medical records, pay her bills, and find out about the mutual fund. She lived in VA, I live in FL. Thanks so much.

You need to file a probate in Virginia so find a lawyer there. Most attorneys will take the funds that are due from the estate. Therefore if there is a $30K fund out there, they will be more than likely to accept on the basis that they are paid from those proceeds.
