Help with a slander question

My fiancee lost primary custody of her chidren in a divorce hearing due to the fact her ex husband lied in court and stated I was a gang member and spent 6 months in jail(both lies). This was the basis the judge used to state that the mother made a bad decision by having her children around me. Any help would help. Thanks in advance.

He should have been required to orive what he was saying, it seems odd that a judge would just take his word for something that can be easily verified -- since criminal records are public. I am assuming your fiancee did not have an attorney representing her, she should consider hiring one and filing a motion for reconsideration asap.
