Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I sold the house that my exhusband quit claimed to me 4 months ago. He is asking for half of the escrow refund. Is he entitled to any part of it?

This would depend on any issues in your Final Judgment of Dissolution of Marriage. If there were no statements there that your ex-husband had any share of the real property and it was provided to you in the divorce and then legally transferred by Quit Claim Deed to you, then if you sold it, he would have no interest in it. However, not sure what the escrow refund is, if that is a refund on utilties, a refund on insurance or something other than actually issues with the real property, that would depend again on if it was addressed in the Final Judgment. If it was not addressed, he is not automatically entitled to it and would have to go back to Court and address and have a court determine if he was entitled to it. I would suggest talking to your divorce attorney or if you did not have one, go see one.
