My sons father won't sign his rights over nor will he pay child support. He doesn't claim him or have nothing to do with him. What is the best solution to getting him to sign his rights over? He isn't on the birth certificate and we were never married, so legally he has no rights. I'm confused on what to do.
If you want child support file a Paternity action. If the purported Father is claiming nothing he has no rights to sign over. Probably the best for you is to file the paternity case, accept the surrender of his rights as settlement or collect child support until age 18.
File a petition to terminate his parental rights. Use of a lawyer is recommended in your case.
