Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I was told by an attorney that when calculating child support, if the mother is unemployed, the states minimum wage is still used as the mothers 'income' for the calculation. Is this true? Is alimony factored in to the calculation?

If the mother is capably of working then a figure will be used as to her income. There are many factors to consider such as if she has a degree what could she earn or has she earned in the past with the degree or previous employment. As to alimony, if there is a need and the ability to pay you can request it but you also have to qualify, how long were you married - short term, moderate term, long term. Here again there are many factors to consider.
