undo an adoption

how do we undo an adpotion entered into 20 years ago when i adopted my current wife's daughter.she has written us off, went back to her real father. asked for forgiveness from him. has truly hurt her real mother and i after we raised her from age 10. we do not want her to have my last name nor anything we have should something happen to us. we only know she is living somewhere out west and we think still married.

Florida Law - Assuming that you have a final judgment for the adoption, then you are the legal father and will remain so unless she is adopted again. She has all legal rights for purposes of inheritance from you and her mother. If you decide that you do not want her to receive any inheritance such as cash, home, cars, household furnishings etc. then you need to have a will made. If her mother feels the same way then she will also need to have a will made. This must be drafted with care so I suggest that you contact an attorney to handle this matter for you.
