I am very unhappy with my divorce attorney. If I fire her I realize I will lose what's left of my retainer. What I want to know is if/when I get a new attorney and I sue for attorney's fees, can I recoup what I spent on the first lawyer?

You can make an argument for all attorneys fees and costs spent throughout the divorce process. It's ultimately up to the Judge to determine whether your request is reasonable, etc.
