Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Wrong name on divorce paper
My fiancee recently showed me his divorce paper. The circuit court judge spelled his last name wrong. Instead of an ''en'' in the middle it has ''ud'' making it a completely different last name. Is he even divorced? If not, can they just change the name, or is he going to have to try to track down the ex?

Re: Wrong name on divorce paper
A scrivener's error can be corrected at any time through a motion to correct judgment. The ex would have to be sent notice of the motion and hearing, but her last known address should suffice.
