Legal Question in Medical Leave in Florida

I'm having some personal issue at work with my boss. Not to mention I have had several personal occurences that have affected my life in many ways. I have had several occurences with my boss, which I feel that she has set me up for failure. I put in for FMLA due to my therapist recommendation, however my employer denied it. Is this appropriate?

I don't think that is enough. I think you would practically have to have been hospitalized or have a doctor's orders that you need to be on bedrest or something before you could take FMLA just because of stress or whatever. Also, you mentioned "several personal occurences" and "several occurences with my boss." Are you referring to being written up on a disciplinary basis for something that happened at work that was seen as a no-no, or are you just talking more generally about incidents that have been negative?
