Legal Question in Federal Tort Claims in Florida

stripped of my freedom

I made the mistake of driving to my sisters after a few beers (she lives 3 blocks from my house)and to punish me or as he puts it ''teach me a lesson'' my husband has taken away the keys to my car, my credit and debit cards and my cash, leaving me with $5 a day. He set up an account with a local taxi co. and I'm forced to take a cab anywhere I need to go. Is this legal for him to incarcirate me to my home like this? Can he take everything away from me like that? It is MY car, and I work, but if I need money I have to ask for it. Please tell me what I can do legally to get my freedom back, short of divorcing him.

Thank-you

Re: stripped of my freedom

Whether you can "get your freedom back" and stay married is not a "legal" question. The answer has to do with what and how much the parties involved want, don't want and are willing to tolerate.

If you have medical insurance, it may cover "short term" counseling.

Suggest that YOU get it, ASAP, before doing anything else.

Good luck,
