Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

another contractor has posted my criminal record (14 years ago) coping it an posting to craigslist. placing or ad calling me a crack head, a drunk. I have his postings saved. Should I go to the state? Will they find out If it is who I think it is

If what he has posted is untrue (for example, you've never been convicted of possession of cocaine, DUI, Drunk and Disorderly, etc.), then you may consider suing him for defamation, assuming you can prove that you've somehow been monetarily harmed. If it is true, there isn't much you can do. The State won't do anything, by the way; it isn't a crime.

If it's true, then there is not much you can do other than ask them to remove it. It is public record. If it violates the terms of CL, you can ask them to remove it.
