Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

giving up parental rights and child support

I have a 15 year old daughter that I never get to see or speak to due to her mother. I pay child support

and have for the past 15 years. The mother is doing drugs and I have heard it from my daughter and others that the money I send is not going to her, but to her mothers habit. I want to give up my rights on my daughter and stop paying child support that is not even benifiting my daughter in any way. My daughter knows I want to see her but i have come to conclusion it will not happen till she is of age anyway.

Re: giving up parental rights and child support

You cannot avoid your child support obligations. You can see a lawyer and make sure that the funds are being properly used for your daughter and you are able to enforce any visitation rights that you have. If you dio not have visitation rights for some reason, you can request them and may very well get them.
