Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

landlord wont give homebuyer any reference

My landlord refuses to speak to the realtor who is trying to sell us a home. Without that, we can't go forward. Do I have any legal recourse? Also, he is a realtor too and wants to sell us property we can not afford. If he is spiteful and gives a poor reference or none--what can we do?

Re: landlord wont give homebuyer any reference

There is no reason that your landlord must speak to someone -- nore should that be an impediment to buying a house. You can always prove that you have faithfully paid rent by showing your bank statemnents or cancelled checks, if that is really necessary.

Good Luck.

PS: the guy sounds like a jerk.
